What is Clickbank?

If you’ve spent any amount of time researching affiliate marketing, you’ve probably heard of Clickbank. It’s one of the most popular affiliate networks, and with good reason! It’s got a large body of products for affiliates to choose from and a secure payment system. Whether you’re a new affiliate or have been doing affiliate marketing for a while, here are some details on Clickbank and how you can use it to earn money online.

Clickbank is a third party site that connects digital product creators and affiliates. Digital product creators list their software, ebooks or audio/video courses on the Clickbank marketplace. For a onetime fee, they can list their product and be connected with thousands of affiliates who want to promote their product. They determine the selling price of the product and what percentage of that sales price will be paid to affiliates.

One of the reasons that Clickbank is such a popular affiliate network is because it is so secure. Product creators know that the transactions on Clickbank will be safe and so they feel comfortable listing their products there. Affiliates know that their commissions will be registered correctly and that they will be paid on time. It’s all very win-win.

To get started with Clickbank as an affiliate you have to register with the site. Registration is free as an affiliate. Once you’ve registered and have established your unique affiliate ID you can search the marketplace for products to promote. You can either search by category or search by keyword to find products.

Once you complete a search of the marketplace, you’ll see the products listed in order of popularity. You can also sort by commission level and other variables. By clicking on the title of the product you can view the pitch page. Be sure to evaluate the pitch page and make sure that it looks professional and has a good sales letter. Bad sales pages will just be a waste of the traffic you are sending to the site.

For each Clickbank product listing there is a short description of what the product does. Underneath the description, there are several different variables that can help you decide whether or not to promote a product. The first is the money you’ll earn per sale of the product. Next is the amount you’ll earn on recurring commissions, if there are any. After that is the exact percentage of the total sales price that you’ll earn. The next percentage tells you how many of the sales are being made by affiliates just like you. The gravity rating is an index that tells you how popular a product is. The higher the gravity rating, the more sales being made.

With these indexes, you can evaluate whether or not a product will be a good match for you. Ideally, you’ll want to find the highest paying product in your niche that doesn’t have too much competition. By doing keyword research and evaluating what is being sold in your niche, you can find the right Clickbank product to promote on your site.
